Hey! 👋🏿 My name is Olatomiwa Bifarin; I also go by Bif. I like to think of myself as a proto‑generalist, partly because calling myself a full‑blown generalist would probably disqualify me as one, and partly because I have enough interests that it’s often tricky to articulate them.
I hold a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and I conducted postdoctoral research at Georgia Tech. Currently, I am on a self-imposed career break to deepen expertise in AI-assisted SWE and to focus on self-directed AI engineering projects. My academic work spans applied machine learning & AI, biology, and chemistry. You can find my academic page here →
I write two main blogs, plus a YouTube channel and an Instagram blog.
The Epsilon. This is my AI blog; I cover everything from AI in science to consumer AI apps. I occasionally publish full‑length essays and share personal AI projects. Read The Epsilon →
episteme Engine (eE). This is my "everything‑else" blog, where I publish (video) essays on science, technology, and the humanities, plus a monthly/quarterly "Around the Web" series that curates summaries, notes, and links across a broad range of subjects. Read more about episteme Engine →
